As in previous years, Newport-Mesa Unified School District is participating in the this year. The survey provides valuable data from our students regarding their perception and thoughts about a variety of areas to help us to better understand and support their student experience at our schools. This year, we find it especially important as we continue to navigate the pandemic and understand the impact it has on our students. The survey gathers anonymous information from students in grades 5, 7, 9, and 11. Some schools may include students in grades 6, 8, 10 and 12. The survey is voluntary; your child is not required to take the survey. The survey helps schools gather information in the areas of: Student connectedness, engagement/motivation, and attendance School climate, culture, and conditions School safety Physical and mental well-being and social-emotional learning Student supports (caring relationships, high expectations, and meaningful participation) While historically we have administered this survey on a bi-annual basis, we value and appreciate the voices of our students and appreciate their input that allows us to better support their needs and celebrate our collective successes. Your child’s school will share additional information about the survey, including options to opt out. Visit the for additional information, including copies of survey questions.
