COVID-19 Update: Quarantine, Isolation and Test Kits

Our focus is to keep schools open for in-person instruction. Given the impact of the nationwide COVID-19 Omicron surge, we would like to update you on a few things. UPDATED QUARANTINE AND ISOLATION PERIODS The Orange County Health Care Agency (OCHCA) issued new guidelines regarding isolation and quarantine periods for those who test positive for COVID-19 or who have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19. COVID-19 TEST KITS As previously communicated to you, the State of California intended to offer COVID-19 test kits to each student prior to returning to school after the Winter break. However, there was a delay in the distribution and only a portion of those test kits were received by our county and our school district. Therefore, the limited test kits will be allocated proportionally to each of our schools to be used as part of our student COVID-19 process to keep schools open. If a student has tested positive for COVID-19 or has been identified as a close contact through school exposure, and requires a negative test to return to school on or after day 5, your child’s school can provide a test kit.
