Attendance Starting today, Monday, April 27, 2020 teachers will begin taking student attendance during Distance Learning. Our goal while monitoring student attendance is to connect with students on a daily basis while supporting student access to learning opportunities with new grade-level content. To support this goal, we expect all students to fully participate in Distance Learning by attending regularly scheduled live class sessions, and completing all assigned work and projects. Attendance will be monitored to support students to overcome barriers that may prevent them from fully participating in their Distance Learning. Teachers will take student attendance using traditional attendance procedures during each live class session. Graduation/Promotion Ceremonies District staff, activities directors -who represent the student voices, and other school site staff have met to explore alternative graduation options, keeping in line with stay-at-home orders and social distancing measures. There are multiple ideas that the group is currently reviewing and we expect to know more in the coming weeks as to what options we have to celebrate students’ accomplishments. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to celebrate students’ success. 2020 Summer Programs and 2020/2021 School Year As the COVID-19 pandemic continually evolves, so does guidance and recommendations regarding how schools might operate in the summer and upcoming school year.
