It has been nearly 90 days since Dr. Wesley Smith joined as Superintendent of Newport-Mesa Unified School District (NMUSD). Since joining NMUSD, he has been busy engaging with employees, students and the greater school community, while working with the Board of Education to establish priorities for the coming years. In this Dr. Wesley Smith shares a little insight about the District’s top priorities: Improve academic achievement from 2019 levels, focusing on early literacy and the expansion of learning opportunities Expand whole-child support More meaningfully communicate and engage with constituents Develop maintenance and facility master plans Note: Some background footage used in the development of this video was filmed prior to the pandemic.
