DRIVER’S EDUCATION Newport-Mesa Unified School District is offering driver’s education this summer with certificated teachers and approved DMV curriculum. Course Description This DMV-approved course prepares students for their driver’s permit test. This is the classroom portion only and is not the “behind the wheel” course. Topics include: Driving privileges and responsibilities Rules of the road Factors that affect driving Collision and insurance information Driving under the influence Distracted driving Students who complete this course will receive a “pink slip” which will be valid for one year. Credit: Students earn 2.5 general elective credits upon successful completion (credit/no credit). Prerequisite Students must be age 15 or older by July 11, 2022. Dates July 11 – August 1, 2022 Times Virtual instruction, 8:15 am to 12:15 pm. Enroll Complete this interest form for enrollment. Space is limited.
