2020/2021 Student Start Date – Monday, August 24, 2020

Newport-Mesa Community, This message is to confirm that the student start date for the 2020/2021 school year remains unchanged – the student start date is Monday, August 24, 2020. While there are many challenges to re-opening our schools in the fall, the good news is that there is guidance being developed at the national, state and county levels regarding the start of the upcoming school year. We have multiple staff and district leaders serving on county and state level committees to help develop guidance for re-opening schools. More information will be provided regarding the start of the 2020/21 school year, but it is important to understand that the specifics will be determined by health conditions and orders at the time. For now, I want you to know our student start date remains unchanged, guidance and plans are being developed, and our commitment to support our students will continue.
