Cloud Campus Continues for 2021-22 School Year

, Newport-Mesa Unified School District’s 100% virtual school, will continue to be a learning option for students throughout the 2021-22 school year. Cloud Campus offers a 100% virtual learning education for students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Cloud Elementary: We are cognizant of the amount of screen time in a fully virtual learning environment and with that in mind, we plan schedules with an appropriate balance of virtual and independent learning. Generally, we begin our day with a whole group class meeting. Throughout the rest of the day, students participate in small group learning and independent work. Our curriculum is a standards-based program that consists of a balance of synchronous (live instruction) and asynchronous (independent) learning. This helps balance academic and social-emotional learning opportunities for students. Cloud middle school/high school: Cloud Campus middle/high school offers a variety of classes to meet the needs of all students. Some classes have multiple weekly synchronous meetings while others will be mostly self-paced independent study. Cloud Campus promotes academic achievement through general education classes, honors courses, and Advanced Placement opportunities. In addition, the Cloud offers individualized support through teacher office hours, specialized intervention supports, and credit recovery. Math, English, science, and history classes are generally offered in the mornings while physical education and elective courses are offered in the afternoon. Visit the list of current to learn more.
