COVID-19 Precautions for the 2022-23 School Year

Dear NMUSD Community:We hope you enjoyed your summer and were able to take advantage of our beautiful weather, the many amazing beaches and parks in our community, and maybe even a trip or two to the OC Fair. NMUSD had a productive summer, with more than 1,800 elementary kids enriching their language arts and math skills while also participating in special programs devoted to the arts, sports and Science, Technology, Math and Engineering (STEM). Meanwhile, approximately 1,300 secondary students got caught up with their academic studies or gained new skills to prepare for the 2022-23 school year. We ended the summer with students at six elementary sites showcasing their theatrical talents in kid-centric musicals, with help from the . We’re excited for another successful school year. As we prepare for the first day of school on August 22 (and August 10 for ), we want to remind you about the continued COVID-19 precautions on our campuses. COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS AND PROCESSES The will continue to be updated. Families will be notified if their child is a close contact to a COVID-19 positive person. Free COVID-19 home test kits for students will be available upon request from the school front office. Enhanced cleaning protocols will remain in place. Handwashing and hand sanitizing stations remain on campuses. Enhanced ventilation and air purifiers in classrooms. Face masks are optional and available at each campus.
