In alignment with the mission of the HRTF, an implementation plan was developed, which includes action items addressing bias-related incidents, anti-bias education, recommendations for staff professional development; and parent and student education, as well as other diversity-related issues. NMUSD immediately began to implement the plan in the fall of 2019. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic many of the programs that did not have remote options were postponed. The District remains committed to continuing with the action items on the implementation plan, which are expected to resume in fall 2021. Moving forward, the work of the HRTF will focus on evaluation of programs on the implementation plan, as well as considering recommendations of new programs and initiatives.
