Newport-Mesa Unified School District (NMUSD) teachers Michelle Sperling and Sara Manseau will present “Children Aren’t Numbers: Rehumanizing K5 Instruction” at the this month. Sperling and Manseau will highlight the evolution of their instructional practices and how their efforts have created a classroom environment where all students can thrive. There will be a question and answer session as part of the virtual event. Michelle Sperling teaches first grade at Adams Elementary and Sara Manseau teaches kindergarten at Adams Elementary. Both have been NMUSD math fellows for multiple years. Founded in 2011, Achieve the Core works to ensure that all students have access to high-quality instruction grounded in college- and career-ready standards.
