Beginning in School Year (SY) 2022-23, the California Department of Education has established a California Universal Meals Program allowing students in TK-12 to receive two meals free of charge each school day, one breakfast and one lunch, regardless of income status. Effective August 22, 2022, Newport-Mesa Unified School District (NMUSD) will serve breakfast and lunch to all students free of charge during the regular school day. Contact your student(s)’s school site for meal times. Paperwork is not required to participate in the California Universal Meals Program; however, we encourage all families to submit a for the 2022-2023 SY.
