Newport-Mesa Community, Based on the latest information regarding the wildfires and in anticipation of excessive smoke continuing in our area tomorrow, our schools will remain closed on October 28, 2020. Secondary special education (SDC) students will continue with instruction via distance learning on October 28, 2020. Since Wednesday, October 28 is a non-student day for elementary students they are not impacted by this. We are hopeful that the air quality will improve in the coming days and anticipate the return of our students and staff on Thursday, October 29. Confirmation of the return will be sent to parents tomorrow. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding. We will continue to update you on any changes.
