Dear NMUSD Community, As many of you enter our classrooms this year, you may notice less on display in classroom walls. Our District has a strong partnership with the City of Costa Mesa and the City of Newport Beach, including each of their fire and police departments. As such, our schools must comply with the fire code, which means that artwork, teaching materials and other decorative items on classroom walls may be more limited than what you are accustomed to seeing. Our teachers put a lot of creativity and effort into creating beautiful classroom environments, with student work and other decorations. We are confident that our amazing teachers will find a healthy balance of creating welcoming environments, while also abiding by fire codes and creating safer spaces. Thank you for your support and understanding and we look forward to a great school year!
